This morning we shot more scenes for JC’s music video. Very special thanks to Spring Lake Park Senior High School and Ms. Brook’s drama class for all their help and accommodations!
If you heard a baby screaming in CTV’s break room yesterday, don’t worry. It wasn’t a real baby! MJ brought in a baby from her health class at school to help with a shoot on teenage pregnancy, and it was a great shoot.

Do you know anyone who can do a full television interview while playing video games? Wait until you meet Armstrong in upcoming Episode 2 of CreaTV!

We had a great time shooting scenes for a music video for up-and-coming musician, JC’s song Lemonade.

Four members of the CreaTV crew and Youth Media Coordinator, Rachel Roff took a field trip to the 2012 Perpich Annual Showcase this Saturday which featured three of our films from the first episode. The crew got to see their films on the big screen and get a peak at what other youth in the Twin Cities are making. They participated in the filmmakers’ Q&A and talked a bit about the production of their films. Then, much to our suprise, our film “Listen Up! The Influence of Music on Teens” was awarded the Perpich Foundation’s Best of Show! It was a huge honor and the crew members were all excited to be at the screening to receive it.

The CreaTV filmmakers will have their work featured at the 2012 Perpich Annual Showcase at Perpich Center for Arts Education on Saturday, April 14th starting at 1pm. Please come out and support them as there will be a Q&A and reception after as well.
The curators said, “[we] were impressed with the quality and content of all your submissions.” Congratulations CreaTV crew!
The youth department here at CTV is growing! In September, CTV will receive a placement of one CTEP/AmeriCorps member as a full time service member for up to two years. This person will assist with facilitating all youth programming and coordinate outreach to youth and community connections to recruit for our youth TV show, other CTV shoots, and volunteer opportunities. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, check out more about the CTEP program and how to apply at www.technologypower.org/position-descriptions/ctv/.

CreaTV was featured on this weeks episode of the North Suburban Beat!
Check out what’s been going on locally in the North Suburbs, and make sure you watch until 23:30 to see CreaTV through the reporters lens of CTV intern and youth programs assistant, Lauren Peake.
The TCYMN All Youth Media Screening featured media from all over the Twin Cities, hosted by CTV’s very own Ciarra Humphrey!
Here is a quote from one of the attendees:
“I just wanted to take a minute to thank Adrianna and everyone at TCYMN that worked to put together the show last Saturday. It was great to see what other young artists are working on and how they see the world they live in today. I was especially moved by the young women that hosted the event. They were professional, conscious of the works they were presenting and all in all just great hosts.
Thanks to all that made the event happen!”

CreaTV finished up production with an interview with band members from The Brutes. The CreaTV crew asked some tough questions about how music impacts teens and the Brutes were up for the challenge and had some great insights.
Last week, Tuesday and Wednesday’s crews collaborated to shoot the studio intros for the final episode. It was a great shoot, and should be a great accent to the show. And now? Edit, edit edit!
